For this last project, I ended up creating two images that follow the tortured housewife narrative. The two women are inspired by 50's pinup posters and the text alludes to them having killed their husbands. I thought the theme for these two designs was very witty and funny and I really like the way they came out. Having done the projector project last semester for our digital art exhibition I really wanted to do something different and work on my personal art in my favorite style. I love graphic design and illustrative style and I knew I wanted to make something following that for the show. I made both of these pieces using the software Procreate and then made prints and magnets of each of the images to sell/display at the show. I, unfortunately, didn't sell any of the prints or magnets but I'm still glad I was able to make them and display the ways my work can be bought. I think I will just take the leftover items to my Etsy shop and sell them there. This was truly an experiment since I've never made more than one physical copy of my work and have never sold anything before. Even though I didn't sell, it was still a very great learning experience for me and was super helpful for me to learn what all goes into the process of making and selling prints so I can apply it to future shows. I think my two pieces were very successful and I can totally see the images on things like tote bags, posters, or coffee mugs and I'm excited to continue to make more pieces like the ones I've created to make a really fun line or work.
