Independent Study Project 1- Mini Room

Updated: Feb 24, 2023

For this project, I chose to continue developing my skills in Blender. I focused on trying new building techniques and textures. I found some images of small mini rooms on Pinterest and used them for my inspiration. I want to make my own little world that if I were a video game character I would want to live in. I started by following very basic youtube tutorials to get started (which are linked below). This project took many hours to achieve as the trial and error process was very lengthy. I am really proud of the way it came out, however, I wish the whole scene was brighter and the wall lamp had light coming from it. I really enjoy building in Blender and will probably do my next project in the software too. I found some texture JPGs online and thought they would make a perfect addition to my very smooth environment. I love the way the shaggy rug turned out and the metallic hardware. The hardest object to make in this scene was defiantly the window/curtain, it took me forever to make the fabric and glass look transparent yet solid. I added my bird from the skins pop quiz, and even though it is on the inside of the room I think it added a nice touch.
