A Living Soul

Updated: Oct 18, 2022

This assignment was a lot harder than I expected. In my brainstorming blog post, I mentioned how I thought this project would come to me easily since I have lots of background in clay sculpting and character modeling but that was not the case at all. I originally tried to make a human-style model that followed the theme of project 1 but it proved to be way too time-consuming. I week before this project was due I realized I had only had the character's head done and needed to switch to working on my other models. This cat I made is something I'm actually very proud of even though the animation doesn't work as I originally planned and its tail looks phallic. I think it's so cute and special with its detail and shape, I could totally see this character in a tv show or something as comic relief. The other character I made is a basic alien guy whose purpose I decided was to experiment with textures and decided to make him metallic. He doesn't move because I could not get him to work with animation to save my life but it's ok. I really love blender and I want to keep developing my skill with it and make more models and animations.
